On the evening of January 26, 1940, a family is found dead in their home. Autopsies reveal they had each been poisoned and the source of the toxin is believed to be a can of sausage.
When Jace Pearson begins investigating the deaths, he comes across two significant discoveries: A feeble minded and an intriguing country hardware store.
And what about the large life insurance policy? The beneficiary is a man named Sid Mack, and Jace soon begins to piece together why this may be important to the investigation..
