Escape! - Two and Two Make Four
David Parker, an American merchant marine, is in Calais, France, where he is beaten and robbed. He wakes up all alone with no memory of the last several hours.
He meets young woman on the road, an American tourist, who tells him he is in England. David finds it hard to believe her -- how could he have crossed the English Channel without remembering?
Parker next meets an eccentric local who explains that he perhaps came through the secret tunnel -- a tunnel under the channel that no one knows about. (Exciting story told 40 years before its time.)
