In a way other programs did not, The Line Up literally brought its audience along to view a case from as close to its beginning as it possibly could.

A mainstay of any police case, line ups were usually shrouded in mystery, screened off from public observation.

Recognizing this, the creators of this outstanding radio program saw an opportunity to make each episode intimate as they have the listener walk alongside Lieutenant Ben Guthrie.

The Line Up offered two solid lead characters instead of one, making sure that listeners understood that Lieutenant Guthrie and Sergeant Matt Grebb (and later Pete Karger) were both worth their attention.

Series creator Elliot Lewis used these characters to play off one other, opening them up for tremendously nuanced performances.

So come behind the scenes of a police headquarters in a great American City, where, under the cold, glaring lights, will pass before us the innocent, the vagrant, the thief, the murderer. This is The Line Up!
